What better way to immerse oneself in the local culture of an area than by experiencing the regional foods and the aesthetic of their artists. Each booth in Aspen's exclusive market sells a Colorado grown or a Colorado produced good, giving locals and visitors an authentic understanding of the region.'The Aspen Saturday Market' is a coffee table style book featuring the 75 vendors in the 2024 summer season. Each small business is highlighted in a 2-page spread of photos and background information including what they sell, where they source and produce their goods, how they got into the business, and how to find out more about them.In 1998, The Aspen Saturday Market was introduced as The Aspen Farmer's Market, with a selection of agricultural vendors. Not long after, artisans were invited to participate. There are very strict guidelines to be accepted as a vendor, primarily that everything sold is Colorado grown, made, or produced. The Market also strives to present a wide and diverse variety of quality goods for a rounded shopping experience. It is essentially a showcase of fresh produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, desserts, flowers, art, jewelry, leather, woodworks, textiles, and several ready-to-eat hot food options. Whether you are shopping for a farm-to-table meal or a housewarming gift, you are sure to find something special. The Market is outdoors in central downtown Aspen, forming a U-shape between Hopkins Avenue, Hunter Street, and Hyman Avenue. It runs from early June through early October between the hours of 8:30 AM to 2 PM. It is a weekly staple for most locals and a must-experience for any visitor who wants an authentic representation of genuine Colorado culture. This book is a demonstration of the hard work and dedication necessary to bring the freshest foods and the most creative handmade goods to the beautiful Rocky Mountain town of Aspen, Colorado.
