- MEETS DOT REQUIREMENT -States require oversize and wide load signs to be YELLOW with black letters. Traffic safety flags are required on both wide loads and long loads. These warning flags must be RED or ORANGE and at least 18 inches in length in many states. Most states require oversize load banners that are 7 feet wide and 18 inches high with 12 inch lettering. All our signs have a yellow background with black 2 inch x 12 inch brushstroke letters.
