- Please pay attention: After removing the battery, wait no less than 30 seconds before inserting the replacement battery. High-quality HQRP battery, designed to start working immediately after installation. If your device does not function right away, it may require a depassivation procedure to activate the battery fully. NOTE: Make sure to follow the steps below for a brand new battery on the unit or if a battery is being replaced.
- The WT4911 could lose power prematurely if a brand new battery is not used. 1. Hold the tamper switch closed before plugging the battery in. 2. Plug in the battery AND continue to hold the tamper for 10 seconds before releasing it. 3. Once the tamper is released, after the initial 10 seconds, the siren flashes the strobe in several different patterns to indicate it is in depassivation mode.
- 4. When depassivation is complete, the strobe lights shut off and the siren starts to beep 3 times every 5 seconds. NOTE: It can take a unit up to 30 minutes to fully depassivate a battery. If the WT4911/WT8911 determines that depassivation is not complete at the end of 30 minutes, it will automatically stop trying and beep once every 5seconds. If this occurs, the battery should be replaced.
- 5. Push in and then release the tamper switch. The WT4911/WT8911 will go into a normal power up sequence with 6 short beeps and flashes of the strobe lights. 6. The WT4911/WT8911 is then ready to be enrolled on the system or returned into service; NOTE: It can take a unit up to 30 minutes to fully depassivate a battery.
