The M3A1 Half Track served as the primary troop transport for the US Army in World War II and the Korean War, designed to carry an entire rifle squad and their gear, often towing a trailer for fuel, water, or ammunition. It featured an armored 'pulpit' mount for an M2HB heavy machine gun and three pintle mounts for additional machine guns. The M3A1 was the most advanced version of the M3 half track family, with 40,000 produced during World War II.
