The Black Soaring Raven This is a large, full scale version of a real raven... and ravens are Big! The wingspan is 40 inches and the body is 21 inches long. Layered heavy black steel plates are formed, welded and bolted to create a dramatic sculpture for indoor or outdoor display. The layers are slightly separated and the deeply notched primary flight feathers are curved and formed specifically to enhance the shape and create dramatic shadows. Heavy steel lends itself as the perfect medium by evoking power, strength and character. Modern, Rustic or Minimalist, Indoor or out, Black steel works with any decor. Tabs are incorporated into the back for hanging with 2 solidly mounted screws. They also hold the sculpture off the wall about an inch to enhance the shape and shadow.
