• To find the correct size shell for your hermit crab, please refer to the "HOW WE MEASURE" picture in this listing. Make sure to measure the opening of the shell, not its overall size. Measure across the longest diameter of the shell opening using a ruler or tape measure for accurate sizing. It's recommended to provide a variety of shell sizes within your hermit crab's size range to choose from, so consider ordering multiple size ranges.
• Each shell is hand selected and quality inspected to ensure shell integrity. Shells with holes are not suitable. Hermit crabs need intact shells that can hold some water to keep the crabs' gills moist. We inspect every shell in your order so you can be sure you are getting "quality hermit crab house" and not wasting your time and money.
• We have many different shells in stock and no two are identical. You may not get the exact shells in the picture, the shell types you will receive will be based on availability in your size selection, however, rest assured you will receive hand-picked and quality inspected shells (known to be used by hermit crabs) similar to the types in the listing picture.
• Don't forget to sterilize the shells. After receiving your hermit crab shells, we recommend boiling them for 10 minutes in primed (de-chlorinated) water with aquarium salt (optional). NEVER use bleach as it is toxic to hermit crabs. After boiling the hermit crab shells, allow them to cool before offering them to your hermit crabs. It's a good idea to sterilize empty shells in your tank every few months.
