The new precision cutting Forstner bits feature a sharp, double-ground serrated edge that cuts along the rotation of the bit for less chipping and chipping, producing flawless flat-bottom holes. This unique geometric design has multiple cutting edges that produce greater cutting action, allowing for faster rotation speeds and more efficient cutting. Competitive Forstner Bit designs produce small chips and dust that accumulate in the cutting area, increasing friction and heat, causing the bit to dull quickly. Those designs also create holes with rough edges that require sanding. Additionally Precision Shear Forstner Bits have serrated edges.
