The Volkl Racetiger SL R WC is a slalom racing ski engineered for speed, agility and precision in gate work, complete with a pre‑mounted World Cup interface plate.
Why we like it:
It stands out for combining full titanal layers, race‑woodcore construction and tailored carbon tips for exceptional responsiveness and edge control.
Who it's for:
Built for ambitious U18 athletes, advanced racers and very high‑level frontside skiers who live for tight slalom turns on hard snow.
Highlights:
WorldCup Woodcore (ash/poplar mix) delivers power and stability; two full layers of titanal for dynamic flex; Tailored Carbon Tip ensures direct shovel response; pre‑mounted plate ensures race‑ready mounting.
Things to consider:
This ski is very stiff, race‑specific and demands excellent technique; not suited for casual or all‑mountain use and may be overkill for most recreational skiers.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Given its slalom geometry and race setup, ensure that your binding, length and tuning align with your racing discipline. Length/sidecut vary (e.g., 165 cm 118.5‑64.5‑101 mm radius ~12 m).
